What Is Omara Projects?
It all starts with a seed.Omara Projects is a for profit organization + enterprise that seeks to activate the arts through cross sector partnerships for deep & meaningful social impact. The brainchild of Tekowa Omara-Otunnu, Omara Projects, affectionately known as OP, serves as an incubator to support and resource initiatives centering women, children, and intersectional groups of marginalized people and places around the globe.
Tekowa Omara-Otunnu saw the need to create a nucleus for intentional growth that could not be compromised by the influence of values or beliefs that encroach upon basic human rights & dignities. This includes principles such as:

- Financial Support + Investment for Intentional Community Engagements
- Support For Community Response Efforts That Adapt To Evolving Needs
- Personal Development & Strategic Support For Women Of Color of All Ages Looking To Work In The Intersection Of Art, Culture & Commerce
-
Resourcing Artists Around The Globe Through Cross-Sector Partnerships in Business
-
Partnering On Initiatives That Support Survivors Of Gender-Based Violence & Abuse
- Fair & Equitable Compensation For Artists & Entertainers To Support Independent Creator Economies
The OP Team consists of a conglomerate of passionate individuals with experience ranging from arts education & administration, development of programming on a private & public sector, professional urban farming, and a group of close international partners coming from agriculture, human rights, civil engineering, music & entertainment, and fine arts institutions.
Omara Projects is directed and operated under the primary guise of Tekowa Omara-Otunnu as a vehicle to dream with her network to enhance the impact and legacy beyond the work they are known for in their respective fields.
